2007 Fact Sheet

What: Southern California's spring season kicks off with the return of nature's blooming pageant, The Flower Fields^® at Carlsbad Ranch. This year's parade of colors is expected to attract more than 150,000 visitors to 50-plus acres of breathtaking Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers.

Where: The Flower Fields cover a rolling hillside overlooking the Pacific Coast, approximately halfway between Orange County and San Diego. Take Interstate 5 and exit on Palomar Airport Road in Carlsbad (look for the landmark windmill). Go east approximately one block to the first cross street , which is Paseo Del Norte, and turn left. Make an immediate right into our parking lot.

General Info: The Flower Fields season runs from March 3rd  through May 13th, 2007. Open to the public seven days a week from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The Flower Fields provides free parking, restroom facilities, and handicapped accessibility for the convenience of our guests.

Features: All American Rose Selection (AARS) Garden -- The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch is one of 130 AARS-accredited public rose gardens nationwide that tests and displays more than 50 different varieties of roses. Each AARS winning rose competes in an intensive two-year trial program where it is judged for disease resistance, color and fragrance.

Walk of Fame Garden -- A one-of-a-kind rose garden featuring each of the more than 170 AARS winners since 1940.

Miniature Rose Garden -- Introduced in 2003, this new garden is comprised of American Rose Society (ARS) award winning miniature roses.

Antique Tractor Wagon Ride - Enjoy a ride on an open-air wagon being pulled by an antique tractor provided by the Vista Antique Steam Engine Museum and view the acres of ranunculus flowers that overlook the Pacific Coast.

Historic Poinsettia Display - Stroll through a 1,500 square foot greenhouse filled with world famous Ecke poinsettias. enjoy hundreds of exciting poinsettias in over twenty rare, and unusual varieties. Learn the history of the world's best selling potted plant.

Sweet Pea Maze - Find the solution to this one of a kind living maze. Immerse yourself in thousands of fragrant and colorful "old fashion" sweet pea blossoms.
