Visitor Requirements:
The safety measures put in place in response to the Covid-19 pandemic are there to safeguard the safety and wellbeing of all guests visiting our The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch®. It is in the interest of everyone at The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch® to comply with the safety measures that have been put in place. Therefore, should an individual not comply with these safety measures, we reserve the right to require that individual to leave The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch® in accordance with these terms and conditions.

Acceptance of Risk:
The safety measures that are being and have been introduced are intended to minimize the risk of contracting the Covid-19 virus but this risk cannot be completely eradicated. Therefore, anyone visiting The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch® acknowledges that they do so at their own risk.

Health Acknowledgment:
All guests visiting The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch® are required to make advanced reservations for a specific date/arrival time and review the health and safety information on this website before arriving.

  • While proof of vaccination is not required, the California Department of Public Health strongly recommends that all guests be fully vaccinated or obtain a negative COVID-19 test prior to entering.
  • While masks are no longer required for vaccinated guests, The Flower Fields strongly encourages vaccinated guests to continue to wear one.
  • When planning your trip to The Flower Fields, please take a moment to self-assess for any potential COVID-19 symptoms. Please reschedule your visit for another day if you or anyone in your group has been exposed to or experienced any symptoms of COVID-19 within the past 10 days.
  • As we continue our efforts to align with the State of California’s guidance, The Flower Fields’ health and safety procedures may change.
  • The Flower Fields encourages anyone travelling to check and follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations, as well as any State.

PLEASE DO NOT VISIT THE FLOWER FIELDS IF you have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19 or COVID symptoms or if you have experienced any of the following symptoms in the last 10 days:

  • Fever
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Chills

NOT DUE TO A CHRONIC CONDITION

  • Sore throat
  • Headache
  • Recent loss of sense of taste or smell
  • Muscle aches
  • Cough

In accordance with the San Diego County Public Health Order, physical distancing and wearing a face covering is required to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. However, even if all protocols are followed there are increased risks of exposure to COVID-19 any time you visit a public place. The Flower Fields, in alignment with the San Diego County Public Health Order, strongly encourages persons who have active or unstable pre-existing health conditions, to remain at home and not visit The Flower Fields at this time.

School Field Trips

For Students Pre-K – 2nd Grade

Cost: $18 per student

  • Available March 15 to May 3, 2024
  • Offered Monday – Friday
  • 9:00am – 12:30pm

Investigative Program

For Students Grades 3 – 5

Cost: $18 per student

  • Available March 15 to May 3, 2024

    • Flower dissection
    • Learn about pollination
    • Composting with worms & recycling
    • Students will learn about Good Bugs and Bad Bugs
    • Study plant benefits
    • Learn how to be water wise
    • Tractor Wagon Ride

Academy and Homeschool Program

For Students Grades Pre-K – 2nd Grade

Cost: $18 per student

  • Offered:
    • Monday, March 18 from 9:30am-12:00pm
    • Afternoons are available for groups of 100 or more
  • Presentation Details:
    • Arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time (9:30am or 1:00pm)
    • Upon arrival there will be time for a snack and bathroom break
    • Attend a slide presentation as a group in our barn at 10:00am or 1:30pm about how to grow
    • Create and take home an art project
    • Plant a sunflower to take home
    • Sing and learn songs like “Dirt Made My Lunch”
    • Go through the sweet pea maze and get a passport activity book
    • Enjoy a tractor driven wagon ride

Education Activities

Composting Program

Our composting program teaches students the principles of recycling, using worms as the “world’s greatest recycler.” Each composting session is taught by a Master Composter. Worms are a fun way for kids to learn about recycling and become more aware of the environment.

Picnic Area
Bring lunches in a large box labeled with school name, and students can enjoy their lunch in our picnic area.

Santa’s Playground
Students are welcome to play in Santa’s Playground. It’s the home of whimsical playhouses and gigantic mushrooms once part of Santa’s Village in Lake Arrowhead years ago.

Sweet Pea Maze
find the solution to this one-of-a-kind-maze of fragrant and colorful “old fashioned” sweet pea blossoms!

The Flower Fields is committed to providing children with quality education and we are pleased to introduce the following educational activity sheets. Feel free to download and print any of the sheets in the categories below for students.

Groups Arriving by Bus
1 teacher – Free
2 chaperones – Free
(per class of 25 students)

Groups Arriving by Car
1 teacher – Free
1 parent driver – Free
(per 3 students)

A max of 2 chaperones (per class of 25) will be permitted with each class coming by bus.

A max of 7 chaperones (per class of 25) will be permitted with each class coming by carpool.

A maximum of 2 additional chaperones per class must be approved in advance by The Flower Fields. Admissions for additional adult chaperones are $29 each, includes wagon rides, and must be pre-paid through the school (siblings are not allowed)

Payment must be made two weeks prior to educational program for classrooms. No cash for classrooms will be accepted onsite. Season passes, online tickets and discount coupons are not accepted.
